Cardinal Animal Hospital

Cardinal Animal Hospital is a full-service state accredited veterinary hospital. Our surgery suite has state-of-the-art monitoring equipment as well as a CO2 laser providing less pain and quicker healing. We can also provide our patients with complete digital radiology services and are able to consult with a board-certified veterinary radiologist quickly via telemedicine, if needed.

Our laboratory allows us to run our diagnostic tests in-house providing almost immediate results. We are also able to provide ECG, and have a full pharmacy on site. Full- service boarding and grooming are also offered with specialized care at your request.

We know how important your pets are and believe they are part of the family! We strive to provide our patients with the best possible medical and surgical care in a compassionate and caring environment. Veterinary medicine changes every day and we actively pursue any future advancements to better serve our patients.

Meet Our Staff

Dr. Paula Jones

Dr. Paula Jones was born and raised in a suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Jones knew at a very young age that she wanted to be a veterinarian and was always driven in the pursuit of her future career.

She did her undergraduate work in biology and chemistry from Missouri State University, graduating with honors, in 1996. She then went to the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with her Doctorate in 2000.

Upon graduating, she worked in a mixed animal practice near Fayetteville, NC seeing mostly dogs, cats and horses. In 2004, she moved to Greensboro with the intention of finding a practice to purchase. She started doing relief work in and around the Triad area with several places becoming regular scheduled days. She started working at Cardinal Animal Hospital in September, 2006.

Finally, in September of 2018, her dream became a reality and she purchased Cardinal Animal Hospital. Dr. Jones lives with her supportive husband, Ralph, and their two cats in High Point. In her free time, Dr. Jones is an active runner and triathlete and loves to compete in local races. You may see her running or biking if not working!

Dr. Deanna Lindsey

Dr. Lindsey was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. She has a B.S. in Zoology from North Carolina State University and graduated from the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine in 1994.

She is married with two teenage daughters and shares her home with a Cardigan Welsh Corgi, two rescued Dachshunds and a rescued Labrador puppy!

Emily

Emily is our hospital administrator and is a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM). She has over 18 years of experience in the veterinary industry including experience as a kennel attendant, veterinary assistant, and receptionist. She is very passionate and dedicated about the well-being of our clients, their pets, and our staff.

Heather

Heather has been with Cardinal Animal Hospital for 16 years. She started at Cardinal as a kennel attendant and was later promoted to being a veterinary assistant and receptionist; she is cross trained to do everything and is great at everything she does! She strives to treat all patients like they were her own pets. Heather’s personal interests include ancient history, collecting artifacts, gardening, and reading.

Krystal

Krystal has worked at Cardinal Animal Hospital since 2003 as a veterinary assistant! While she was in College, before joining Cardinal, she began her training at the emergency clinic and at Southwoods Animal Hospital in Greensboro. After Graduating college in 2002, she moved to Florida where she did an internship at the Nature Conservancy in wildlife rehabilitation. In 2005 she married her husband and now has two children, 2 dogs and 1 cat. When her boys are not playing soccer or lacrosse, she spends most of our free time camping or going to the beach. Krystal loves a good adventure!

Emily
Emily is our Office Manager. She joined our team in September of 2022. She has been in the veterinary industry since 2012, with a broad knowledge and experience as a veterinary assistant. She is certified as a Dental Assistant and is currently enlisted in a program to complete a Bachelor's in Veterinary Medicinal Technology. She has a strong compassion for patient care and staying up to date with the standards of veterinary medicine. She strives to surpass customer experience and expectations by providing clients and owners with education and assistance. She is devoted to the well-being of her colleagues. When Emily is not at work, she is spending time with her husband, family, and friends. She also enjoys ATV riding, kayaking, cooking, and gardening.

Tiffany

Tiffany started as a vet assistant/ receptionist/ kennel attendant in 2000; it was then that she fell in love with animal health advocacy. After several years as a veterinary assistant, she came as a receptionist to Cardinal and has been with us since 2011! Tiffany has 3 dogs and 3 cats. She enjoys day trips on her motorcycle, traveling, going to concerts, theme parks, karaoke, and eating out!

Josh

Josh has been working at Cardinal Animal Hospital for 10 years. Josh started as a kennel attendant and was later promoted to be a veterinary assistant. He has had over 30 years of experience with small animals, potbellied pigs and birds.

Sonya

Sonya has 15 years of experience in veterinary medicine with 10+ years of lead surgical assistant experience. She loves veterinary medicine and has a passion for caring for all pets. She currently has three dogs and two cats. Sonya enjoys spending time with her husband and her son. She loves to learn new things a enjoys a good challenge! She is very excited to join our team and meet all of our wonderful clients and their pets!

Antonia

Antonia joined our team in July of 2019 as a kennel attendant and is now a client service representative at our front desk! She is attending school online to become a licensed Vet Tech. Her passion has always been animals and the well-being of them. In her free time she likes to read and spend time with her dog, Lucy and her cat, Marky-Mark.

Mikaela

Mikaela has been a part of the Cardinal kennel team since July 2021 and is our assistant kennel manager. She also has a side business where she makes boutique-style dog treats! Mikaela has 6 dogs and 3 cats. She's been working with animals for about 10 years. In her free time, she is taking online classes for animal behavior and nutrition.

Melissa

Melissa is part our wonderful veterinary assisting team but also enjoys helping wherever she is needed in the hospital. She is currently pursuing her certification as a Licensed Veterinary Technician and has a passion for exotic pets! She loves spending time with her dog, Ori.

Stacey

Stacey has been with us since April 2021 and is our kennel manager. Stacey loves dogs and is wonderful with all of our patients here! She is talented in handling our day campers and is a great team-player and asset to our team.

Abbey

Abbey joined our team in December of 2020 and is currently attending online school to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician! She loves to make sure that your pets have an enjoyable day camp experience.

Emily
Emily has been in the veterinary field for 20 years! She is originally from Atlanta, Georgia and has called North Carolina home since 2007. Emily currently has five cats, one dog, two ducks, and one Arabian horse. In her free time, Emily enjoys going to concerts and camping with her family.

Kalista joined our kennel team in August of 2021 and is attending school to be a Licensed Veterinary Technician! She loves all animals and enjoys making sure that every patient receives extra love and attention while they are with us.
